Canon[]
Toji Fushiguro was a calm and confident non-curse user who was a part of the Zen'in clan. He was very sarcastic and seemed to enjoy conversations with others as long as it pertained to himself. He exchanged banter with his enemies and was very nonchalant. Before becoming The Sorcerer Killer, Toji became unstable while with the Zenin family and soon met Megumi's mother. While there is not much known about her and the relationship between her and Toji, so much so that even her name is unknown, it was shown that Toji deeply cared for her and she may be the only one he has ever genuinely loved. Her death greatly affected Toji and made him very broken. And despite being with several women after her death, Toji never loved them as much as he loved Megumi's mother.
After her death, Toji became a widowed father and eventually married another woman called Fushiguro. She had a daughter called Tsumiki who became Megumi's stepsister. However, it seems that their marital relationship wasn't so harmonious.
Whilst fighting Satoru Gojo in Chapter 75, Toji has a flashback of his wife and son, Megumi. His wife looked happy as she held their son in her arms, and this memory seemed to be very dear to Toji, as it appeared during his final moments before death.

Megumi Fushiguro[]
Their only son is a Jujutsu Sorcerer who was taken under the care of the former's enemy, Gojo. He took in young Megumi along with his step-sister Tsumiki.
Megumi has met Toji on several occasions both when he was young and old, however he failed to recognize his father as he had been absent from his life for a long time. Megumi also told Gojo that he did not care about where his father was, and later revealed during his fight with Ryoumen Sukuna that Toji had given him the name Megumi (“blessing”) without even knowing his gender. As for his mother, it is unknown if Megumi remembers her since he was just a baby when she died.
Fanon[]
Toji and Megumi's Mom do not have a 'proper' fanbase yet due to Megumi's mother being a mystery, however they are still one of the most popular ships in Jujutsu Kaisen. "ToMema" is sometimes a background or a side-pairing in many ItaFushi and FushiKugi fanfiction. It is largely popular in the Japanese and Korean fandom.
A song chosen for the couple is Call Your Name from Attack on Titan. Many think this is a song that describes Toji’s feelings about his wife and her death. The ship was later popularized by @_neimana who drew art of the two cuddling together, and @DDub1618 who makes daily comics and illustrations of Toji and Megumi-Mama together with their son Megumi.
Since Akutami has yet to reveal the wife's name, there is not much fanfiction written for the two. Another joke that runs in the fandom regarding them is the, “I can fix him” meme.
A popular trope used in artwork involving the two is depicting the couple as Tatsu and Miku from The Way of the House Husband. Fans like to occasionally mention the couple in Megumi-centric fanfiction as well. On some occasions, Megumi recalls his parents and talks to Yuji and Nobara about it. It is also hinted in many Gojo-centric fanfics, where Toji tells Gojo (before his death) about Megumi, and mentions his wife and her fate. Gojo later finds Megumi and Tsumiki, he then adopts them and takes care of them, sometimes along with one of his designated partners.
It is Toji’s fifth most written ship on AO3 and his wife’s first. On Pixiv, Toji and his wife currently have almost 80 artworks. However, this may not be an accurate quantity since most artworks featuring the two do not feature tags.
Because Megumi‘s mother’s name is not Fushiguro, now more Japanese fans choose to call the couple 甚めマ(ToMema).

- In the Jujutsu Kaisen Character Poll, Akutami commented “Megumi’s biological mother and the person Toji gave himself wholly to” on the poll for Megumi’s mother.[3]
- The translation of original Japanese 心を許した can be interpreted as either “to trust” and “to relax one’s guard”.
- On Toji's character introduction page in Chapter 79, it was stated that he became unstable while with the Zen'in clan but calmed down after meeting Megumi’s mother. However she died shortly after Megumi was born, causing Toji to return to that state.[4]
