Pumpkin Monkey Bread - recipe - Creative Housewives (1)

Last Tuesday I got a text from my friend Nikki saying she had a great idea for a fall treat to share on the blog. Since I’m always looking for great ideas I was all ears. She then told me she was dropping off a secret ingredient. When I got home and it was sitting on my door step I knew I was in for some HAPPY treat baking!!

Have you ever had Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Butter?? I am going to owe Nikki for a long time for this introduction. I’ve already made 3 recipes with it and have more running around in my head.

Today’s recipe is super simple and turned out pretty stinking awesome if you ask me (and my whole family). I have never made Monkey Bread before…my kids may not forgive me for their wasted years. I’ve done it now though, and I know how easy it is now so it’ll make it into our breakfast rotation for sure.

Pumpkin Monkey Bread

recipe adapted from Pillsbury

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup butter – melted

Heat oven to 350°F

Lightly grease 12-cup fluted tube pan with shortening or cooking spray.

Mix sugar and cinnamon in a gallon size ziplock bag

Cut all 16 biscuits into quarters and place into bag.

Shake bag gently until all biscuits are coated with mixture.

Once coated, dump biscuits and leftover mixture into pan.

Melt butter, mix butter and pumpkin butter together.

You may need to melt the pumpkin butter if the heat from the melted butter

doesn’t melt it down too. Butter and Pumpkin Butter need to be a liquid.

Mix melted butters with brown sugar (should have a nice soupy mixture).

Pour over biscuit pieces.

Bake 28-32 minutes until golden brown and no longer doughy in center.

Let cool in pan for 10 minutes.

Turn upside down onto serving plate.

Pull apart to serve.

Serve warm.

My family devoured the whole pan. There are 9 of us, we all ate some as a treat after some had already had breakfast. If I was making this as the only breakfast I would make two pans for our family of 9. We would probably have some leftovers…maybe…probably not, it’s that good.
