Q U O T E S

Michigan Head Coach Red Berenson
On how the team responded being down late in the game ... "We were frustrated with the way things maybe weren't clicking as well for us, but you have to give Bowling Green some credit for that. They disrupted play from time to time. They played a good game. I think we learned one thing -- we have to hang in there. You're not always going to be ahead."

On winning for the first time in three years at Bowling Green ... "The weekend is not over. We've been in here before when we've won and then gone home and lost. The weekend is only half over. It's good for our young players to get some confidence in this building. They saw Bowling Green play probably as good as its been all year. There was a lot of excitement, so it's good to win a game like this."

Michigan Junior Goalie Billy Sauer
On rallying with goals late in the third period ... "I think we knew that we started out the game a little sloppy, a little slow, but I think we knew we were going to get our chances. It was kind of like last Friday night's game against Ohio State where we were getting our chances but not burying them. We just knew that if we kept playing well we were going to get (shots) in."

On Bowling Green's much-improved offense ... "I thought they played a really great game. They had a lot of chances. On some of them they kind of missed and I got lucky. I thought they were very good forwards. I'm friends actually with (Derek) Whitmore, so I was glad he didn't get one on me tonight."

On handling the flurries of Bowling Green pressure ... "I just try to stay in it. I think the last time I was here I saw almost 40 shots. I'm kind of used to coming in here and getting peppered. Tonight I didn't feel like I had quite as many chances against, but it was a fun game."

Sophom*ore Forward/Defenseman Chris Summers
On playing forward for the first time this season ... "I felt alright. It took a couple shifts to really get into the game. I give my linemates, (Travis) Turnbull and (Tim) Miller, a lot of credit for really getting me into it, getting a couple hits in and helping me kind of feel it out."

On his first goal of the season, which was the game-winning goal ... "It felt good. A lot of guys on the team were really happy for me. It's good we pulled that win out. We probably should have done a little bit better in the first or second, but it's a gritty win so we'll take it."

On his goal ... "It was a great forecheck shift. Miller and Turnbull were really working down low with a lot of good hits. Miller made a good pass to Turnbull. Turnbull tried to put it away, the puck kind of popped free and I thought why not try to score, so I put it in."
