Euro 2024 pitted Europe's top national sides against each other in a month-long tournament that kicked off in Germany on June 14.
The hosts had not played a competitive match since their group-stage exit at the 2022 FIFA World Cup prior to beating Scotland 5-1 in the opener, and they were considered long shots to win the tournament behind favourites England and France.
Italy memorably secured victory in the Euro 2020 final against England at Wembley, but the Azzurri will not be defending their title, having lost to Switzerland in the Round of 16. The final will instead see England attempt to go one better than they did three years ago against an impressive Spain side.
