Dec. 24-Jan. 1

CRDAMC holiday hours set

Christmas Day and New Years Day, all Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Department of Family Medicine clinics and pharmacies will be closed. The main outpatient pharmacy will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The hospital will remain open every day for emergency services, inpatient care, and labor and delivery services.

The following Department of Family Medicine clinics will be closed Christmas Eve and New Years Eve: Bennett Health Clinic, Monroe Health Clinic, Family Medicine Residency, TMC-12, Russell Collier, Copperas Cove Medical Home, Harker Heights Medical Home and the Killeen Medical Home.

The Thomas Moore Health Clinic will remain open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Patients can call ahead at 288-8888.

The Thomas Moore Pharmacy will be open from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, and the Refill Pharmacy will remain open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. those days. The Main Outpatient Pharmacy will be open from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

ID & AG holiday hours

The Fort Hood ID card offices as well as all other AG support offices will close Tuesday and Wednesday for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They will reopen for normal customer service Dec. 26.

Commissary holiday hours

The Clear Creek Commissary will be closed Christmas Day, Dec. 26, Dec. 30 and New Years Day. The commissary will be open from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, and from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Dec. 27, New Years Eve and Jan. 2.

The Warrior Way Commissary will be closed Christmas Day and New Years Day.

ACP, Installation gates

Fort Hood’s primary access control points will be manned Christmas Eve, Christmas Day New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

On those days, the following secondary ACPs will be closed: Highway 195 Gate, Santa Fe Gate, Tank Destroyer Boulevard and New Railhead, Old Cove Road (West), Mohawk Gate, 79th Street Gate, and Martin Drive Pedestrian Gate.

Dec. 28

UFC fight night at Backbone

Middleweight champion Chris Weidman and former champion Anderson Silva faceoff in a rematch that will be shown Dec. 28 at the Backbone Lounge. Enjoy 14 flat panel 42-inch TVs, finger foods and beverages for purchase.

The doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the event is free and open to everyone 18 or older. For more information, call 532-5073.

Dec. 31

New Year’s Eve Bowling Party

Bowl in the New Year at the Phantom Warrior Lanes, Dec. 31.

Its New Year’s Eve Bowling Party runs from 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve to 1:30 a.m. New Year’s Day.

The cost is $75 per lane, which includes unlimited bowling, shoe rentals, wings and pizza for up to five bowlers per lane.

The party is open to all DoD identification card holders and their guests. Reservations are being taken now. Call 287-3424 for more information or to reserve your lane.

Through Dec. 31

The Courses of Clear Creek

The Courses of Clear Creek is offering specials now through the New Year. The course is complete with driving range, practice greens, club and cart rentals, and more. The full-line pro-shop is located at Bldg. 52381, Battalion Avenue at Clear Creek Road. For additional information, call 287-4130.

Special Operations recruiting

The Fort Hood Special Operations Recruiting team offers Special

Operations briefings to interested Soldiers weekdays from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

Every Monday and Friday, the recruiting team offers a briefing on all Special Operations military occupation specialties, Tuesdays they brief Psychological Operations, and a briefing on Civil Affairs is conducted Wednesdays. Briefings are conducted Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., covering Special Forces. The briefings are conducted in Bldg. 16007, located at the corner of 42nd Street and Old Ironsides. Football at Backbone NCO Lounge

NFL Sunday Ticket is available in the Backbone from 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. each Sunday. The facility boasts 14 42-inch televisions, free popcorn and assorted snack foods and drinks available for purchase. Entry is free and open to everyone 18 years of age and older. For more information, call 532-5073.

Thursday Music Mix

Come to the Backbone NCO Lounge 3-8 p.m. every Thursday for pool, shuffleboard, popcorn and finger foods. Listen to a live DJ; playing country and western, the top 40s, oldies, R&B, merengue, salsa, tejano, blues and more.

The event is free to all 18 and older. The Backbone NCO Lounge is located inside Phantom Warrior Center, Bldg. 194, 37th Street. For more information, call 532-5073.

Outdoor Recreation Permits

All patrons engaging in authorized outdoor recreational activities in Fort Hood training areas must obtain a Fort Hood permit prior to patronage. Authorized outdoor recreational activities include, but are not limited to: hunting, fishing,

hiking, biking, bird watching, horseback riding and ATV. For more information, call the Sportsmen’s Center (Bldg 1937 at Rod & Gun Club Loop off Murphy Road) at 532-4552. In addition, customers utilizing BLORA horseback

riding and mountain biking services are required to check in at

BLORA’s Admin Office beforehand. BLORA is located on North Nolan Road.

Army Career and Alumni Program Calendar

The Army Career and Alumni Program center is in the Copeland Soldier Service Center, Bldg. 18010. The ACAP office and it’s Computer Lab is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, but closed from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays. Appointments are required for seminars and workshops.

BRIEFINGS

Pre-Separation Briefings: Required for all separating military members of all services 12 months prior to separation or retirement. Complete the briefing online at www.acap.army.mil. For more information, call 288-2227 or 288-5627.

TVA Disability Claims Briefings: This briefing is held Mondays at 12:45 p.m. in Room B110 of the Copeland Center.

Pre-Retirement Orientation: The next briefing is 9 a.m., Feb. 10, at Club Hood.

Special Programs: Warrior Transition Unit clients can take advantage of federal internship positions. Positions are available through the Operation War Fighter and Coming Home to Work programs. Typical intern positions are with organizations such as the Exchange Service, Homeland Security, Treasury Department, Fish and Wildlife and more. To learn about qualification requirements for the program, contact the WTU transition coordinator at 553-4811.
