| Dick Dolman Kenai, AK | My first job was pushing air drop supplies out the door of a Noorduyn Norseman to firefighters on the State of Washington/Canadian border fire in 1947. I can still remember the smoke and heat as we flew low to assure hitting the drop zone. I was tethered to the inside of the plane to prevent me from sliding out with the cargo when the plane was banked in a forward slip to ease the pushing effort. The flights originated from the Intercity Airport between Twisp and Winthrop, Washington. The pilot as I recall was Don Moyer who, as a 12 year old kid, I idolized.
