The mix of history and modern life here has made it not just a home, but a truly special place to be grateful for every day. I've met lifelong friends here and will forever remember the memories that I have made throughout my life. Whether it was getting ice cream every Friday at Morellis Icecream, or going to the neighborhood park to meet with friends, I've had such an amazing life growing up here. 18. #25 Best Places to Live in Atlanta AreaBoltonNeighborhood in Atlanta, GA·Rating 5 out of 5 2 reviewsCurrent Resident: We recently sold our home in Druid Hills and moved to the Westside. Our east side neighborhood became so overpriced; so we cashed in & found a nicer home in Bolton. We found a charming old mill house with a lot of character in Whittier Mill. We are really enjoying the neighborhood! It has a huge park with trails , and a really nice playground . It is also a lot quieter than our old neighborhood .There are also a lot of perks that we like on this side of town. I used to spend a lot of time trekking over to Brookhaven to get to a Costco, or Buckhead to a Trader Joe's , or to an Apple Store or to go to a nice movie theatre . The east side is still inconvenient as far as shopping goes. The westside area has all of the best in town shopping plus many new restaurants, breweries , and shops . We are really glad that we decided to make to move.... Homes are beautiful, and there is great community spirit and support for beautification and security. Yes, there is a lot of construction, because the neighborhood was originally developed around 1904.
